Today's Devotional Scripture

Today's Verse
The darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining
~1 John 1:8

Thoughts on today's verse...
When one or the other of our grandkids spend the night with us, we always put a nightlight in the room they are sleeping in. That way, if they awaken during the night perhaps they won't be so frightened when they realize it isn't their own bedroom. And there have been times in the wee hours of the morning that one or the other wakes us up with soft crying and sobbing. So we go to them, pick them up and comfort them until they can calm down and return to dreamland. Soon, it's morning and the sun is up and shining and their night terrors are forgotten.

Like today's verse, morning is coming for us, also! Our night terrors of darkness will be forgotten and we will be in eternal light. What a wonderful thought. We will be in the presence of our Lord and Savior - what comfort and peace that will be. As we care for our children and grandchildren, how much more so the Lord will care for us!
My prayer...
Abba, Father - comfort us with Your light! May the darkness and terror of our lives be replaced with Your light. Amen!

Yours, because we're His,

Tamara

  1. Oh, I often think that too, of the Love Our Father must have for us, I'm sure the love we feel for our own children and grandchildren must pale in comparison! It's a very comforting feeling, and also a wonderful feeling to think about the darkness we may experience in this world being nothing more when we are in the Presence of The Lord.
But it's oh so nice to have His Nightlight here too throughout the dark times!

    Great post!
    All the best,
    Eileen

p.s. As you can tell I didn't have to go to my daughter's after all as she called me at the last minute to say her mother-in-law would be available after all.
