Today's Devotional Scripture

Today's Verse
Those who are right with God, will live by faith.
~Habakkak 2:4 NIRV
Thoughts on today's verse...
Then one might ask, "so, what does it take to be right with God?" That's a very good question. Perhaps it is best summed up in that forgiveness is about God's grace, His redemptive work through Jesus Christ and our ability to accept it. It's almost too simple. Surely there is something I'm required to do? Some act, some work, some 'thing'... No, just asking for His forgiveness, repenting and following are basically it.

The living by faith is then put into action by our lives and the way we live them, so that other's might observe. And that has always been the frightening part to me - being an ambassador for Christ. What if I am the only Jesus they may ever see? Will I draw them to, or drive them away? Our families are watching... our co-workers are watching... our communities are watching... I personally have to get over that obstacle, because more importantly Jesus is watching.
My prayer...
Lord God, Father God - hear my prayer! Help me to get over the "what will other people think" mentality and to only be concerned with what You think. If I am pleasing to You in my life, in my work, then perhaps others will be drawn to You. ~Amen!

Yours, because we're His,

Tamara

  1. Of course it is also important to remember that Paul admonished people to not cause there 'brother' to fail by their example, so we have to try as much as possible to be a good role model for others (crazy example would be if a non Christian thinks chocolate is evil, I would not eat it in front of them).

Truly, if we pray and let Him lead us, we will be on the right path just as you have shared!

  2. I think all of us as Christians have had this same thought....I know I have and I have prayed about it. I now try to live by example and be of service to others. I always tell when asked that I am a christian and everyone who knows me knows how much I love my rosary. It has become a daily practice for me.
Love your post Tamara and prayer......Hugs
