Today's Devotional Scripture

TODAY’S VERSE
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”
II Timothy 2:15

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”
Matthew 7:24-25
THOUGHTS ON TODAY’S VERSE
It matters what you build your life on. Both Jesus and Paul agreed, you need to build your life on truth – the truth of the Bible. Not just knowing the truth, but living the truth. Jesus said, “Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them in practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” Paul wrote that we should be a, “workman that does not need to be ashamed, who correctly handles the word of truth.” If we want our life on firm ground then we need to be grounded in His word. We need to read the Bible, study it and then apply it to our life. We need to live what we read. When we do, we will find that life will stand the tests of time.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Lord Jesus, I want to live my life on solid ground. I want to be able to stand firm when I go through hard times. Help me to read your word and understand its meaning. Help me to live out in my life what Your word says. I want to be a workman that does not need to be ashamed, who correctly handles your word of truth! ~Amen!

Yours, because we're His,

Tamara
