Today's Devotional Scripture

Today's Verse

The Lord is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king.
~Jeremiah 10:10 KJV

Thoughts on today's verse...

I like the book of Jeremiah, in fact one can accurately guess my age by this book. I call it "the bullfrog chapter" (Jeremiah was a bullfrog... was a good friend of mine...) Ok, ok, enough of the humor already! Jeremiah was referred to as the 'weeping prophet'. Jeremiah's warnings against sin and judgment are paramount throughout the book, but so also is the message of hope and restoration.

Isn't that a message we still need today? Hope - to continue on in the face of adversity, when everything inside our beings is crying out for us to quit, resign, retire. And restoration... sweet restoration... Those of you who refurbish antiques know exactly what I'm talking about. Taking something old and making it new again. That is exactly what the Lord does for us through repentance and forgiveness. This message of hope and restoration is one we need to take into the market place. We are not alone in needing this message but are surrounded by others who need it too, even though they may be denying it.

My prayer...

Abba, Father - I ask that You fill me with your Spirit this day. Allow me to be your vessel and fill me so full of You that it spills over and flows onto those I come into contact with today. May I have a message of hope and restoration for one who needs it today. ~Amen

Yours, because we're His,
Tamara

  1. What a nice correlation you made, Tamara, with the restoration of old furniture for we are born like old furniture, always needing restoration in God, as well as allowing ourselves to be vessels of restoration for others.

  2. Nice post, Tamara!
I love that you also talked about the hope and restoration, I always need to hear that after the 'sin and judgment' parts of the Bible, otherwise, to tell you the truth, I feel hopeless.

    Very nice message. Thank you.
