Jesus said, "Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."~Luke 12:32
Thoughts on today's verse...
Traveling to the book of Luke chapter 12 and beginning in verse 22, helps to put verse 32 in context. Basically, it's saying, "Don't worry!" And that, Girl Friends, is something I have trouble with. Verse 34 sums it all up very nicely, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
I've become so accustomed to the Christian cliche, "Just give it to Jesus!" and I do... for a bit... then I snatch it back and worry about it some more. I know this is a control issue, and frankly I need a "how to" manual on giving it to Him and then just leaving it there! Our most recent ladies Bible Study was entitled, "Living Above Worry and Stress" and one would have thought I'd have gleaned more from it than I did. What I did find in the study were numerous verses that continue to remind and reassure me that the Lord is with me and all that I worry about.
My Lord and my God, please flood my mind with verses from Your Word when I determine that I am going to worry about something! No amount of worry will change the outcome, but a change in my attitude can affect how I react to the circumstance. Especially when I acknowledge that You are in control and nothing, not one thing escapes Your sovereign nature. All things will work to your glory. ~Amen
